averted vandalism?

Andy <>, Sun, 21 Sep 2008 16:27:08 -0700 (PDT):

I just blocked what appeared to be a set up for "tag team" vandalism:

# (User creation log); 18:24 . . Delosf (Talk | contribs | block) (New
# (User creation log); 18:22 . . TyloorD (Talk | contribs | block)
(New user)

Note how the first names appear to be fakes, and timing suggests they
are working together.  Then TyloorD put a single link to Random Pages
on his user talk page, perhaps for use by a bot to begin vandalism by
both users.

I didn't wait and blocked both, and also shut off new registrations
for a while.

Feel free to investigate their IPs further.  In the future, feel free
to act aggressively in blocking what appears to be an imminent
vandalizing attack.

Thanks.  In Christ,

I found another

Cut Conservapedia's total view count by as much as possible. As of
this writing, it stands at approx. 60,185,000.

This will be accomplished by deleting Conservapedia's most popular
pages, an action which zeros out a page's view count. As it stands, I
do not have the deletion power on Conservapedia, and thus I will have
to force others to delete the articles for me.

By launching a clickbot attack, I can drive individual articles' view
counts up so high in so short a period of time that Aschlafly will get
suspicious and delete them (he will promptly resurrect them, of
course, but permanent deletion is not my goal). Admittedly, this may
take some time—I have only one computer, and I can only manage about
10 hits per second. This effort may require assistance from others
willing to participate.

According to the talk page there this user is already in Conservapedia, and
he has done over "6500 edits"...which might be posted on his user page.  He
goes by Freud or Radioactive Afikomen.

I suggest looking at those people who were given more rights than editing to
see what we got.

There's also something else on this page.  Trent Toulouse is giving advice
and tacit approval to these people to go and commit vandalism.  And he's
doing it from his dorm room on the campus at McMaster University.  Like it
or not, we're going to have to take that university to court now, because
Trent has made that place legally liable for the damage he telling others to
do against us.

How do you know that he's doing from the university?

Because that is where he's at now.  He's working on his doctoral degree
there.  He has very little money for anything else after paying his
university costs, which is why he had to do a "Pi drive" to get money to
operate Ratwiki and pay his server costs.  Plus, he continually advertises
his university email address to contact him.

The above RatWiki page was wiped of evidence.

This is one area where I'd be a little careful Brian.  RW also likes to
'pick off' our most productive editors.  Unless we have a specific trail to
follow, I'm not sure we should go looking - or at least not in any form that
would make us suspicious of users just because they have made extensive
contributions to our site.
