User:Conservative again

kara...@gmail.com, Sun, 30 Sep 2007 03:45:09 -0700:

Did Conservative ever at any time tell us where he's from? Did he ever
make postings of any kind outside of Conservapedia or CreationWiki?
Does anyone here know his real name?

I'm saying this becaause I'm still not convinced as to his honesty
with regards to CP.  Yes, I agree he has made an awful lot of
contributions to the site, but even Hitler has done good things as
well.

First is the accusations that he is user:Newton at RW.  As proof of
that, I have submitted his postings of what he intended to do
regarding the Atheist article and a picture of a prominent ex-atheist,
both of which are born out by the times they were happening in both
sites.

Second is the RW accusation that he is Ken DeMyer:

http://www.adam.com.au/bstett/ReligCreationismBiologyMess108.htm

Typing his name on a search engine and looking at what he wrote will
pull up pages like the above, which are similar to the edits
Conservative supplied to articles such as evolution and Hitler.

In doing a search of where this Ken DeMyer lives, I went to
Privateeye.com.  I can type in relevent info about a person's general
whereabouts, but the more private stuff (SSN, jobs, etc.) I would have
to pay for, and I don't.  Typing in "Ken DeMyer," and adding, on a
hunch, the state of New York, and I get the following:

http://www.privateeye.com/Summary.asp?fn=Ken&mn=&ln=DeMyer&dobmm=&dob...

Ken DeMyer is 45 and from Buffalo, New York.  Remember troll and user
KDBuffalo?  Was KDBuffalo trolling against us before or after the
Ratwikians claimed he was Ken DeMyer?

If the above is true, then we got someone with a clear Jekyll/Hyde
personality.  If it's not true, then we've got one hell of an
elaborate ruse going on.  Either way, I am of the opinion that
Conservapedia should not have to suffer this.

Any thoughts on this?

It looks like he chased off Ungsst, who was by all accounts a
conservative Christian editor, by repeatedly falsely accusing him of
being a liberal.

"Dan Holmes" <thunderbolt...@gmail.com>, Sun, 30 Sep 2007 09:45:45 -0500:

I feel that we, myself included, have some personal responsibility
when this happens for not defending people who are being bullied
simply for trying to make suggestions for changes to his locked
articles.

kara...@gmail.com, Sun, 30 Sep 2007 12:42:13 -0700:

It's already established that Conservative is user Newton in RW.
That's a fact.  But there are two additional accusations here, one of
which is just plain bad.

The first, and bad one, is that Conservative is the troll known as
KDBuffalo.  That has to be proven, and a simple way of doing so is to
get the known IPs from KDBuffalo and matching that to Conservative.
Only an exact match will do.

The second accusation, and possibly safe, is that Conservative is the
individual named Ken DeMyer from Buffalo, New York, and the same Ken
DeMyer who made those off-site columns in support of creation, but
were marked with a lot of cut-and-paste quotations.  If this is the
case, we're dealing with a 45 year-old man instead of the 20 year-old
we may have believed that Conservative is.

Now if Conservative is truly on our side, and we all hope and pray he
is, he needs a talking to.  Some of the questions postulated by the
above need some anwers.  And he also has to stop his trolling at RW,
because whether he realizes it or not, those people are out to
humiliate him by any means possible, and they don't care how they do
it.

The below is why I don't touch RW with a cybernetic seven-cubit pole. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Kdbuffalo on what site? We don't have a user by that name on CP. I do
think he probably is that same user on Wikipedia, though. I don't know
his real name because he's used several different names in email
communications.

kara...@gmail.com, Sun, 30 Sep 2007 13:32:14 -0700:

Here's what I found so far:

The IP addys from Conservative, as posted in Conservapedia:

128.205.191.53
128.205.191.51
128.205.115.89
128.205.115.88
128.205.191.68
192.135.227.164
128.205.115.93
128.205.115.94
128.205.115.91

With the exception of one, they all post from the State University of
New York at Buffalo.  The odd-one out (192.135.227.164) posts from the
Buffalo and Erie County Public Library, 1 Lafayette Square, Buffalo,
New York.

The IP from user KDBuffalo, retreived from Wikipedia's user page
history, is 128.205.191.60, and is also from Buffalo, New York.  The
edits from the user identified by this IP addy only are random pages
of vandalism:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/128.205.191.60

The above user also edited KDBuffalo's user page, without reverts by
KDBuffalo.  The actions indicate they are the same man:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Kdbuffalo&action=history

KDBuffalo, when he's honest, does Biblical-related edits similar to
Conservative:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Kdbuffalo

It speaks for itself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Institute_for_Creation...

This is an example of a history file regarding user KDBuffalo.  Note
how he signs it: "KDBuffalo/Ken"...as in Ken DeMyer?

This is dated November 20 of last year, before Conservapedia was
launched, and looking at the history of these edits, he's got
controversy from others for being hostile regarding his edits, not to
mention the vandalism.

I don't so much have a problem with content with Conservative.  I don't like
his cutting off all contributions to them, as if this were a Bible Wiki,
with just one POV.  It is understandable because that is what he is used to,
and to be brutally frank, CP needs workers like him creating content, even
if controversial in nature, to draw people to it!

So please, everyone, let us let this die down for a while, and let Andy
coach him some.  We need to stick to the positive when talking about our
own!

kara...@gmail.com, Sun, 30 Sep 2007 15:02:26 -0700:

In the interests of good contributing, of which Conservative is pretty
much guilty of, I agree.  It is possible that providing a comfortable
working environment here we can keep Conservative from becoming
someone like KDBuffalo.

Andy knows what to do, and has been doing.  I am not saying to stop looking
into this, but just for informational reasons only.  And the article
improvement we talked about the other day, doing it here, should continue, I
think....

done...give that about ten days.

I'm very disappointed that Ungtss has left.  His religious views are not
ones that I fully agree with (and I'm not sure that I'd even be happy with
the label "Christian", but he's certainly no atheist nor liberal), but he is
a very fair and good editor.  His departure is a definitely a loss for
Conservapedia.
